The perishable goods area is 1,500 sqm provided with 13 cold rooms for perishable goods arriving at Malpensa airport and destinated to Italy or other international airports.

Functional areas in order to share EU and non-EU goods:

* live animals (O)
* animal-origin perishable goods for human consumption (HC)
* animal-origin perishable goods for non-human consumption (NHC)
* non animal-origin perishable goods

"Cold" area is provided with 13 cold rooms constantly checked 24 hours a day all year long through an information system measuring every minute the temperature of any single room.

There are:

* Access area to cold room at constantly measured temperature (+12+18° C)
* Storage rooms:
-at room temperature
-at refrigeration temperature (-1+7° C)
-at freezing temperature (-20+7° C)
* Storage room at refrigeration temperature for meat storage, provided with self-bearing structure and connection to the drop-leaf facility for delivery to couriers
* Transit areas at measured temperature (+12°/+18° C) for freight delivery according to freight type
* Drop-leaf structure at measured temperature for animal-origin goods (HC)
